Ruby Queen

(2nd to Queen Viv of course the ultimate female redhead superhero)
I think Karen Elson is just stunning, talented and she is married to amazing Jack White so obviously has impeccable taste! The star of so many many fabulous photo shoot’s, including so many by the fabulous Tim Walker, has now released some tunes. Will definitely have to track it down and her hot hubby also produced it.. bam. Solid Gold.

Dreamtime

I just bought new pj's today and I cant wait to go to bed. This is what im expecting tonight's sleep to be like. Beautiful picture is by dreamboat snapper Sofia Ajram. Now I just need to get home asap! Might need these...
The ruby slippers that is... definitely not the ELO record.

Fat bottomed girls they'll be riding today

I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

I don't believe in Peter Pan
Frankenstein or Superman
All I wanna do is ...

Electra Amsterdam gloriousness.

Bring on the bling

If you are ever in the market for some serious hardware for your hands Dominic Jones is what you are after. He creates incredible pieces that are, in the words of Rachel Zoe, to D.I.E. for. I personally would opt in for the knuckle duster style talon ring. Aside from looking that much more stylin while stumbling home I also think it could possibly also double as quite a good weapon if you ever had to defend yourself. The Crocodile skull cuffs are out of control and will definitely make a statement!! His pieces make me think of American cult jeweler Pamela Love. Her work is also quite edgy and nature inspired but it has a beautiful rawness to that is utterly desirable.

Dominic Jones.

Pamela Love. I actually have a thing for teeth necklaces so may have to save up for these awesome teeth pendants.... ah-mai-zing.

I said L.O.V.E.

Artist Steve 'Espo' Powers did a beautiful project recently in Philidelphia entitled 'Love Letter' and aside from being wonderfully pleasing to the eye it is also just so sublimely romantic. And even though it is so OTT love-tastic it also has no effect on my gag reflex. Mix tapes and graffiti... the way to any girls jaded heart. Check out the project here.

The one That I just adore is "I want you like coffee. I need you like juice. I wont put you on the side like bacon. You can have me over easy." He would have me at coffee....

The moose.

The best way to kick start the weekend: killer latte + sausage and rocket roll at moose. Honestly its the greatest. Quiet street, locals strolling past, greache decor and nice staff. Tidy little package over all. And they make jam to boot.

Is it wrong...

To wake up every morning with mass annihilation on the brain? The bird population of my street is out of control. It's like waking up on the set of Alfred Hitchcock's the Birds every day.

You look like a gypsy. Want to lick my crystal balls?

The Dark Crystal by Jim Hensen.

Ahh weeds. I think I have been watching a little too much of it lately. Im up to the end of season five and have a serious obsession with Andy Botwin and Doug the accountant. Ah-mah-zing.
Anyway another thing that I used to watch relentlessly was The Dark Crystal. My awesome sister just bought it for me and I have been reliving my childhood tucked into bed on sunday nights. Very enjoyable indeed.
So O.K. crystals. Apart from that epic film i've always thought they were pretty damn ugly and only for hippies and strange folks who hung them out on a full moon to recapture their full powers (whatever they are apart from sitting there like the inanimate object they are). I am now ready to feast on my words. First there was the sadly passed genius Alexander McQueen's crystal boots. Stunning and with an incredible shard of crystal for the heel. Now Stylist Tamilia Purvis and Art Director Melanie Kamsler have started a range of jewellery 'Mania Mania'. Glorious pieces that are using crystals in a truly fab way. I am in love. I have my peepers on 'The Immortal Ring' and the rest of the collection too might I add. Check it out here but get your credit card ready. The crystals will get ya...

Chickenheads unite.

Main image from Michael Baumgarten.

Bring on the cash money.
Back in the day Jeremy Scott, an all time favourite, was inspired by a bit of cold hard cash and everything luxe producing the 'Opulence Collection'. It was sublime.
More recently the creative duo that are Romance was Born have brought us the collection 'Nightmare on Wall Street'. Another amazing collection inspired heavily by the good old green back. I bought a money hairclip and I have to say it is fast becoming one of my most coveted accessories. Who needs the plastic fantastic - it's all about the cash cash cash.

People who live in glass houses.

One thing I love to day dream about while plugging away at my work computer is the world outside... I know this is hardly original and everyone has these fantasys. To be able to dictate our own time? A place where I can escape, where I can see the light, the trees, smell the fresh air and basically embrace the life of a modern day luddite. Alas my budget doesn't stretch to more than paying rent in the city and taking one day off every couple of month's but you never know... One day it may happen.... We can only dream and hope can't we?

Anyway, enough rambling.... These house's are pure fantasy... Just dreamy.

Ode to Aldridge

I am absolutely in love with Miles Aldridge's work. He is such an amazing photographer and it was very cool to see one of his photo story's featured in this months Australian Harpers Bazaar. Anyway he also has a book that was released late last year and its definitely at the top of my "want it now" wish list.

Miles Aldridge: Pictures for Photographs.
